Pressure distribution on buried flat plate, subjected to static and airblast overpressures
Study described features first phase in experimental modeling program concerning buried, simply supported, reinforced concrete slabs conducted to investigate redistribution of stress on outer surface of buried structure caused by both static and transient airblast loadings applied to soil surface; and to develop procedure to measure and represent graphically pressure distribution on surface of buried, simply supported, flat plate, showing variation of pressure with time; tests were conducted in dense, dry sand.
