Circulation in shallow homogeneous lakes
Steady state, wind driven circulation of shallow, homogeneous lake on rotating earth is studied by means of solution of equations of fluid motion; equations are linearized, dissipation is assumed to result only from bottom friction and constant eddy viscosity is employed; solution gives three dimensional circulation patterns for lake of arbitrary plan form and bottom topography; effect of bottom topography is shown in sample calculations.
