Illustrated description of sewer construction in Manhattan, Kan; 36 in. wide, 12 to 18 ft deep trench is being cut with Parsons trencher; because of sandy material, flat slope had to be provided on ditch; sewer consists of vitrified clay pipes 18 to 21 in. and asphalt coated corrugated metal pipe; cost of both types of pipes were about same.
