Push rehabilitation of Alaska railroad
Alaska Railroad which starts at Seward extends north 470 mi to Fairbanks; 5 yr program of rehabilitation will cost approximately $48,000,000; work completed in 1948 included: yard grading and drainage, extension of freighthouse, extension of office building, and dismantling and re-erection of forge building, at Anchorage; sketch map shows locations of work to be completed in 1949 program.
