Brazilians build 15-span prestressed concrete bridge
Galeo road bridge in harbor of Rio de Janeiro is divided into 15 simply supported girder spans; each span contains 19 prestressed girders 3 ft 8 in. c to c with modified I shape in cross section; FRE YSSINET method applied to prestressing; bridge is supported on bents consisting of three 6 ft 7 in. diam hollow concrete piers capped with reinforced concrete cross beam.
