Investigation of Rainy Creek mercury prospect, Bethel district, Kuskokwim region, Southwestern Alaska
Deposits lie at western base of Kilbuck Mountains, about 80 mi southeast of Bethel, in southwestern Alaska; Bureau excavated 1,500 ft of dozer trenches totaling 2,547 cu yds; 19 samples taken for analyses; production has been solely from cinnabar concentrates recovered during gold placer operations along Rainy Creek; description of deposits; analyses.
