Rock rake simplifies slab removal
To remove 4-lane, concrete pavement, 6 to 8 in. thick, 0.7 mi long, 3900 lb tear-drop (skull cracker) hammer was used on Florida road; hammer was dropped on pavement at about 4 ft intervals from height of 15 to 20 ft; caterpillar D7 tractor with 7S bulldozer, equipped with Fleco 10-tooth rake, ripped up and piled concrete slabs, weighing up to 3 tons each.
