Concrete stairway in recently completed Beverly Hills, Calif., water-treatment plant was built as cantilever slab, eliminating usual longitudinal supporting beams; railing built by using 3/4-in. twisted reinforcing bars, topped by small channel in which oak railing was secured by screws put through channel from below.
