Three-in-one tunnel blast in Wisconsin quarry
Three tunnels loaded with 79,000 lb of dynamite were fired in one blast to produce 325,000 tons of broken stone in quarry at Dresser, Wis; tunnels were driven horizontally each 70 ft deep, 4 1/2 ft high, and 3 ft wide; height of face of rock over tunnels varied from 75 to 90 ft; dynamite selected for blast was Hercomite X, with 100 lb of Gelamite D as primer charge.
