Thin brick walls are only support in design for multistory buildings
New structural system employing thin partition walls as sole vertical structural elements, without use of steel or other reinforcement, takes advantage of inherent prestressing provided by gravity, improves sound isolation within building, permits use of inexpensive spread foundations, simplifies construction and eliminates costly engineering and detailing; system shown by analyzing ten-story building.
