Scheme makes use of water resources of catchment area of 124 sq mi in Inverness-shire and in Ross and Cromarty; main tunnel of horseshoe section with equivalent diam of 15 ft 9 in.; Beinn a Mheadhoin dam is of straight gravity type, 582 ft long; max height 125 ft; Fasnakyle station equipped with three Francis vertical shaft reaction turbines, each with output of 33,000 hp running at 375 rpm.
