Construction of Kafr el Zayat railway bridge
New steel truss bridge over Nile River, Egypt, with 7×70-m spans, carries double track and two sidewalks, each 1.25 m; construction of pneumatic caissons forming piers; protection of incomplete caissons during flood period; erection of steel superstructure; span at east end of bridge built partly on river bank and floated into position.
