Boring. Deep submarine borings in the river forth
Series of borings were made under difficult conditions; borings were required in depths of from 50 ft. to 105 ft. of water, which precluded use of stagings, and conditions of tidal range and current, in locality where storms are apt to arise with little warning, made operations difficult and hazardous; bores were taken from barge specially rigged so as to give outboard platform and fitted with overhanging derrick.
