Covered reservoir combines precast and poured concrete
Appreciable saving made in constructing Stacy Park covered reservoir for St. Louis water works by combining precast concrete with concrete poured in place; reservoir, 806 ft. long and 603 ft. wide, has reinforced-concrete roof, supported by 1724 precast concrete columns spaced 16 1/2 ft. on centers and tied together in groups of fours by precast struts at about mid-height; column casting yard at central mixing plant; construction plant for wall footings; belt conveyor backfilling walls; roof forms carried by precast columns.
