Zanzibar harbor scheme; 15 acres was to be reclaimed both by tipping from land and also by sand-pump dredger; area to be dredged consisted of sand, very fine mud, and 3 in. of poor clay; author suggests that dredged material pumped into enclosed area settling-pool is dangerous, as it encourages accumulation of mud and silt in one spot.
