Isherwood steel hatchway cover
New hatchway cover, invention of Joseph Isherwood and manufactured by Clarke, Chapman and Co; basic principle is substitution for wood covers of interchangeable plate covers made from mild steel, each plate being flanged at sides and ends. (See also Engineering v 138 n 3592 Nov 16 1934 p 537)
