Construction of Bavarian "Zugspitz" railway
Scheme provided for independent line starting from Garmisch-Partenkirchen station; "Zugspitz" railway, 3.2-ft.-gage adhesion railway, starts from Garmisch and directly follows existing State Railways line to Griesen, Ehrwald, and Reutte; rack section of line begins at Untergrainau and proceeds first with maximum gradient of 11.85 per cent alongside mountain pass to lake Eib.; tunnel has length of 4810 yards.
