New York State's third diesel Dredge
Dredge known as Hydraulic Dredge No. 5, has been placed in service at Sylvan Beach, New York and is operating 24 hours per day with three eight-hour shifts; designed and built entirely by State forces; hull is of all-steel construction, with length of 106 ft.; 500-b.hp. Lombard Diesel engine of 6-cylinder, 4-cycle trunk-piston type, operating at 275 r.p.m., is direct connected to 15-in. centrifugal pump.
