Soil-cement base solves Wisconsin road problem in rebuilding state highway 54
Deteriorated stretch of 26 mi of U S Highway 54 in Wisconsin and connection to U S Highway 51 led to new route which was 4.5 mi shorter; 6-in. soil cement base and 2-in. bituminous surfaces; 5-ft shoulders consisting of mixture of sand in subgrade and binder soil were stabilized.
