Design of concrete bowstring-arch bridge, including analysis of theory
Wilson River bridge being built by Oregon State Highway Commission; structure consists of pair of arch ribs for 120 ft. span carrying suspended through-roadway deck with arch reactions taken by reinforced-concrete floor slab acting as tie, thus converting structure into completely closed ring supported on vertical piers; tied-arch theory; temporary hinge for crown; temperature and shrinkage effects. (See also - discussion in no. 20, Nov. 12, 1931, p. 784)
