Bond stresses between reinforcement and concrete
Investigation of bond stresses occurring at failure in region beyond end anchorage; deductions are based upon experimentally obtained deformation properties of concrete showing relationship between bending moment, neutral axis position, and steel stress; approximate formulas are given for rapid determination of bond stresses; results indicate that thick prestressing strands should be used only for wide spans; this condition can be neglected only if capacity of girder's or plate's compression zone is not fully utilized.
