"Flying forms" speed apartment project
Re-usable form units employed in construction of 12-story apartment building in London, Ont, are described; units were supported by 4 or 5 pairs of adjustable scaffold legs, angularly braced to give stiffness to entire unit; manually operated screw jacks at top of each leg permitted adjustment which brought forming surface up to correct elevation; gaps between 44 forming units required to form 53 ft × 227 ft 9 in.slab were filled by individual sections of plywood.
