Ultimate strength in combined bending and torsion of concrete beams containing both longitudinal and transverse reinforcement
Rectangular concrete beams were tested to destruction under combined bending and torsional loads; beams contained both longitudinal and transverse reinforcement, and concrete strength, amount and spacing of reinforcement, and moment-torque ratios were varied; theoretical model was developed from observed failure mechanisms and was used to check results of tests and also results of other tests reported in literature.
