Fire in oil refinery of Sinclair Refining Co, with loss estimated at $1,000,000, caused three deaths and 100 minor burns; congestion of tanks and buildings, explosions of flammable liquids, and failure of water supply made fire fighting hazardous and difficult; fire completely extinguished after 50 hr of fighting.
