Heat treatment of concrete reinforcement steel by induction heating
35GS steel rods prepared by this method have mechanical properties which meet specifications At-V and At-VI, while rods from St 4 cp steel comply with At-III; 35GS steel after optimum tempering, has impact strength of 9 to 11 kg m/sq cm; threshold of cold brittleness by brittle fracture is at -50 to -60 C; with decrease of temperature to -90 C, impact strength still remains at 5 to 7 kg m/sq cm, which shows advantage over plain furnace heating.
