Experimental studies on trickling filter
Experiment was conducted on function of laboratory scale trickling filter to treat supernatant (BOD approximately 300 ppm) of night-soil digestion tank; function of trickling filter was estimated especially from BOD removal, as nitrification and microbiological fauna (Protozoa and Metazoa) of filter media; it was examined how function would be affected by recirculation, two-stage filtration and water temperature; 3 to 8 cm in diameter granite was used as filter media.
