British practice of grouting applied to granular materials
Nature of alluvial grouting is described and need for adequate site investigation is emphasized; survey of various available grouts is followed by review of factors affecting choice of suitable grout; practical application of stated principles is illustrated by reference to treatment carried out at new Black-wall Tunnel under River Thames; methods of drilling, mixing grouts, injection, and control of operations adopted are discussed.
