Design features and construction methods of rockfill dam now under construction for British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority are described; dam rises 600 ft from bedrock of Peace River and measures 6700 ft long at crest; its volume is 60 million cu yd; operation of 15,000-ft long plant-feed conveyor that travels 13 mph and delivers 12,000 tons of material per hour on its 66-in. wide, steel-reinforced rubber belt is also described.
