Use of new types of waterproofing fluid, essentially of mixtures of water based silicone and rubber latex to remedy defects typical of old buildings; fluids are used as impregnants for creating liquid damp-proof courses in masonry by injection technique; they are also efficient waterproofing additives for cement and combination of injection and waterproof rendering techniques has been used for walls. (See also Rubber Developments v 14 n 4 1961-62 p 110-17; Engineering v 193 n 5003 Mar 9 1962 p 330)
