Construction of hard runway at coventry aerodrome in soil-cement
First phase of 4-phase scheme of development described; after extensive and detailed soil survey which revealed subsoil of sand-gravel, type of construction adopted was 6 in. layer of mix-in-place cement-stabilized soil, followed by further 6 in. layer of pre-mix soil-cement, surfaced with 3 in. of hot-rolled asphalt; details of tests and final results given.
