River tunnel built with submerged tube section
Foundation elevation for tunnel design was assumed as AP-12 m, term AP meaning height of 1.1344 mm from mean sea water level of Tokyo Bay; planned bottom depth of water was assumed as AP-3 m and high water level as AP-2.30 m; construction consists of one submerged tube, caisson tunnels on both sides, and adjoining tunnels constructed by coffering; merit of design was that respective parts could be executed independently.
