Load tests on thin pretensioned pavement slabs
Theoretical procedure for determining magnitude and distribution of stresses and deflections in prestressed concrete pavements beyond conditions to which elastic theory is applicable was developed at Portland Cement Assn; to test validity of assumptions made in analysis and to compare theoretical and measured data, three reduced scale prestressed concrete slabs supported on spring subgrade and loaded through circular plates were tested to failure; test variables included size of loading plate and magnitude of prestressing force.
