Photooxidation of asphalts in presence of ozone
Effects of ozone on photooxidation of coating-grade asphalts were compared to those of air and of oxygen under variety of radiant energy conditions; photooxidation rates of all asphalts increased as exposures were made to carbon-arc radiation in air, in oxygen, and in ozone-enriched oxygen; each asphalt exhibited different oxidative response to solar, xenon-arc, and carbon-arc radiant energy sources.
