Infrared spectra of asphalts -- Some aspects of changes caused by photooxidation
Infrared spectra of coating-grade asphalts to which model organic compounds were added were compared with spectra of original asphalts and with photooxidized asphalts; principal oxygen-containing products formed in asphalt during air- or photooxidation were aldehydes, ketones, and acids; presence of esters could not be confirmed.
