Fracture toughness of portland cement concretes
Fracture toughness is shown to be material property determined by evaluating stress intensity factor at onset of rapid, unstable crack propagation; stress intensity factor denotes elastic stress and displacement fields in region of crack tip of homogeneous material; concrete was analyzed as homogeneous material and effective fracture toughness was obtained; experimental investigation was conducted to determine effects of several concrete parameters on fracture toughness of concrete.
