Unusual problems solved in repairing pipe-line river crossing
Line repairs described were made on 10-in. acetylene welded crossing constructed across Mississippi River in 1930; at that time no dredging was done, but in 1937 this crossing and adjacent crossing were lowered by dredging to depths specified by governmental authority in charge of navigation and stream control; accurate mapping at that time proved of value in later repair operations; dredging cover off line; placing slings; raising; welding; coating; testing; lowering.
