Temperature dependence of electrical strength of polyester unsaturated resins and of GRPs based on them
Glass reinforced plastics (GRP) tests were carried out in range 20 to 200 C; resins and GRP were hardened at 20 to 25 C; between 20 and 70 C electrical (dielectric) strength of unsaturated polyester resins depends slightly on temperature; with d-c electrical strength falls more sharply; further rise in temperature causes only slight reduction in electrical strength with a-c or d-c; reduction in d-c electrical strength in GRP based on unsaturated polyester resins modified with anthracene is approximately 30%.
