Settling caissons picked up by H-piles
Old concrete caissons of 10-story reinforced concrete building in Chicago, were underpinned by steel H-piles sunk to rock, and load transferred by concrete collars engaging both old and new construction; piles were jacked down 90 ft and then driven last 15 or 20 ft.
