Sanded intrusion grout solved difficult unwatering problem in excavation for navigation lock at dam being built across Apalachicola River, Fla; grout holes were drilled 2 1/2-in. in diam with primary spacing of 20 ft between holes; curtain of sanded intrusion grout made possible excavation to depth of 30 ft below normal river level with little pumping.
