Description of 250,000 gal capacity prestressed concrete reservoir at Crawley New Town, Sussex; reservoir is cylindrical structure 50 ft in diam, 21 ft high and has domed roof rising 6 ft 3 in.; wire used for prestressing was 0.2 in. diam high tensile steel with minimum ultimate tensile strength of 210,000 psi and minimum stress at 1% proof stress of 180,000 psi; prestressing carried out with self-propelled merry-go-round machine.
