Grass sowing under film of bitumen emulsion
Experiments carried out in England to study growth of grass seed in road surfaces stabilized by 1/8-in. sand, non-toxic bitumen emulsion, and another 1/8-in. sand, rolled with heavy hand roller; results reported excellent; one great advantage is prevention of mud. (See also Surveyor v 106 n 2869 Jan 17 1947 p 43)
