In order to avoid resonance, natural frequency of "machine-foundation-soil" vibrating system should be less than half or more than double that of exciting vibration; formulas are established for natural frequency of different vibration modes, and methods are described for experimental determination of term c (elastic constant related to soil parameters); if calculations show that natural and exciting frequencies are too close to each other, appropriate changes should be made in foundation dimensions.
