Photoelastic investigation of foundation beams
Purpose of study is determination of base pressure distribution for beam resting on elastic soil and loaded at both ends with concentrated loads; new method was developed for determining stress in middle reach of beams which is too small to be obtained by graphic integration; stress distribution curves were compared with those calculated using subgrade reaction theory.
