Photoelastic analysis with interferometer simulating reinforced simple concrete beams
Investigation on static stresses developed in reinforced models simulating reinforced-concrete beams were carried out; boundary stresses obtained with Favre interferometer were compared to those obtained with standard circular polariscope; it is concluded that photoelastic analysis offers practical approach to problems of reinforced concrete; models demonstrated and verified some of assumptions of stress distribution in concrete design.
