Influence of overheating and underheating on fatigue properties of heat treating steels; underheating does not cause appreciable reduction of fatigue and other mechanical properties, as does not overheating to temperatures of about 200 C at Ac₃; significant reduction of deformation characteristics is caused by increase of overheating (1200 C) while fatigue strength is not affected; tests are continued in order to formulate hypothesis for explanation of observed phenomena.
