Experimental unit for combining continuous casting and rolling of steel; single installation, constructed by All-Union scientific research institute for metallurgical engineering, combines continuous casting of steel in clover leaf shaped mold with three rounded apexes having area of 45 sq cm and continuous rolling mill with three 3-high stands of 500 and 440 mm diam; trials and investigations have produced positive results which were used as basis for designing similar full-scale plant.
