Biaxial eccentricities in ultimate load design
Design method for short, reinforced concrete columns subjected to axial load and biaxial bending is described; method is based on assumptions that carrying capacity of section is equal to algebraic sum of carrying capacities of concrete and reinforcement at compression failure, that stepwise constant stress distribution is used, and when edge stress of concrete is fully employed, stress in reinforcing steel is also fully employed.
