Use of concrete blocks to form circular lining 11 ft to 16 ft in diam at Haunchwood mine, Great Britain; it is essential that center line and grade line be maintained while putting in lining and special care must be taken to ensure that any spaces behind blocks are packed solid; in solid heading it was found best to put bottom half in first and take heading about 9 ft high; total length of roadway completed is 1090 yd; construction of refuge holes, functions, transformer and switch houses on locomotive roads, repairing lining, ventilation.
