New method has been developed for construction of tall buildings, providing factory conditions for all men employed in erection, installation of engineering services, fitting and finishing; roof is constructed first at ground level in jig, then raised to 1-story height by hydraulic jacks to leave room for topmost floor to be constructed on same jig; process is repeated until entire structure has been completed and been lifted into its final position; permanent structure, construction techniques employed, and temporary jig as installed at ground level are described. (See also Instn Civ Engrs -- Proc v 27 Mar 1964 p 433-64)
