Superstructure of Wentbridge Viaduct near Doncaster, comprises 3 span continuous prestressed concrete box girder, 470 ft long and supported by 2 pairs of inclined reinforced concrete legs; whole structure is of in-situ concrete and main prestressing makes use of 1 1/8 in. stranded wire cables; construction of viaduct is outlined and methods employed in supporting structure during construction and operations involved in carrying out stressing described.
